The speaker cone of the Goldwood is four and seven eights. The cut out for the speaker is four and a fourth inches wide. Two together would give me a hundred and forty watts. It's a five and one fourth inch woofer made by Goldwood. I finally found a woofer at Parts Express that I thought might save the day. I took the amp apart and saw that I was limited as to what kind of speakers I could put in it as the baffle board was glued in. They are wired in series and to my way of thinking are presenting an eight ohm load to the amplifier. Worse than that was the fact they were four ohm speakers. They looked like something you might find in a cheap radio. The speakers that were in it were lacking. Upon further inspection, I saw the problem right off the bat. It didn't have much in the way of bass response and even less in the way of volume. However, when I first played it, I was more than a little disappointed. It has the diamond pattern grill cloth with the white piping, the Basketweave vinyl, the chicken head knobs and all the other little details. It is a cool little bass amp with all the right styling ques. My son gave me a Vox Pathfinder 10 bass amplifier.
